Antonio Machín

Antonio Machín (1903-1977) was a Cuban singer born in Sagua la Grande who spent much of his later life in Spain, where he became enormously popular. He worked across son, bolero, and Cuban tropical styles, and his 1930 recording of 'El manisero' with Don Azpiazú's orchestra was the first million-selling record by a Cuban artist. He remains one of the most celebrated bolero singers Cuba produced.
