Astor Piazzolla

Astor Piazzolla was an Argentine composer and bandoneon player, born in Mar del Plata in 1921. He transformed traditional tango into a style called nuevo tango, pulling in elements from jazz and classical music. His compositions and performances made him one of the most influential Latin American musicians of the 20th century.
