Billy Fury

Billy Fury was a rock and roll singer from Liverpool, born Ronald Wycherley in 1940, who became one of Britain's most celebrated performers of the early 1960s. He wrote his own material at a time when few British pop acts did, and his recordings leaned into raw American-influenced rock and roll as well as softer ballads. Health problems stemming from childhood rheumatic fever shadowed his life, and he died before he turned 45.
