Blue Lu Barker

Blue Lu Barker (born Louise Dupont, November 13, 1913, in New Orleans, Louisiana) was an American jazz and blues singer who spent decades performing alongside her husband, guitarist Danny Barker. She moved to New York in the early 1930s, where she became a popular figure on the jazz circuit, sharing bills with artists like Cab Calloway and Jelly Roll Morton. She recorded through several decades and returned with Danny to New Orleans in 1965, where the two remained influential figures in the city's music community until her death in 1998.
