Bobby Bare

Bobby Bare is a country singer and songwriter born in Ironton, Ohio in 1935, who built his career on a laconic, storytelling vocal style rooted in folk and rural country traditions. He scored nearly five dozen top 40 hits between 1962 and 1983, with songs like 'Detroit City' and '500 Miles Away from Home' among his best remembered. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
