Deep Purple

Deep Purple formed in Hertfordshire, England in 1968 and went on to become one of the foundational bands in hard rock and heavy metal. Their classic lineup built its sound around loud, riff-driven guitar work and prominent Hammond organ, pulling from blues rock and psychedelic rock along the way. The band has cycled through several lineups over the decades but kept releasing and touring well into the 2000s.
