El Gran Martín Elías

El Gran Martín Elías, born Martín Elías Díaz Acosta (1990-2017), was a Colombian vallenato singer and the son of legendary vallenato figure Diomedes Díaz. He built his own following performing a modern take on vallenato, and was regarded as one of the pioneers of a new generation of the genre. His life was cut short in a car accident in April 2017 at age 26.
