Frankie Negron is a Puerto Rican-American salsa singer and songwriter born on January 21, 1977, in Newark, New Jersey. He built his style around salsa romantica, pulling in elements of pop, R&B, gospel, and hip-hop to give traditional salsa a more contemporary feel. Early in his career he performed on Broadway as part of Paul Simon's The Capeman, which set the stage for his move into recording.
