Gabino Pampini

Gabino Pampini, born Gabino Espinosa in Panama, is a salsa singer who built his career as a sonero, a vocalist who improvises lyrics and melodies in the Cuban tradition. He started out with groups El Combo Impacto and Roberto Y Su Zafra before going on to lead the band Fuerza Noble alongside arranger Ricardo Lance in the late 1980s. He has recorded steadily as a solo artist, releasing salsa material rooted in the tropical style associated with Colombia's Discos Fuentes label.
