George Strait

George Strait grew up in Texas and built his career on straightforward country music rooted in honky-tonk and Western swing traditions. He is credited with helping revive traditional country sounds in the 1980s and has accumulated more than 60 number one singles, more than any other act in country music history. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006.
