Glenn Miller

Glenn Miller was a trombonist, arranger, and bandleader born in Clarinda, Iowa in 1904. He worked with several major bands through the 1920s and 1930s before forming his own orchestra and becoming one of the defining figures of the big band and swing era. His recordings from the late 1930s and early 1940s captured the sound of an entire generation before his death in 1944 while serving with the U.S. military.
