Gov't Mule

Gov't Mule is an American Southern rock jam band formed in 1994 by guitarist and vocalist Warren Haynes, bassist Allen Woody, and drummer Matt Abts, with Haynes and Woody both serving in the Allman Brothers Band at the time. The band draws heavily on blues, rock, and jazz, building a reputation for long, improvisational live performances. After Woody died in 2000, the group carried on with a rotating cast of bass players before settling into a more stable lineup.
