Hank Williams

Hank Williams was a country singer and songwriter from rural Alabama who became one of the most influential figures in American music. He recorded dozens of top-10 country hits in the late 1940s and early 1950s, drawing on blues, gospel, and honky-tonk sounds he absorbed growing up in the South. He died in 1953 at age 29, but his songs and recordings have stayed in circulation ever since.
