John Prine

John Prine (1946-2020) was a singer-songwriter from Maywood, Illinois who worked across folk, country, and rock for roughly five decades. He wrote plainspoken, often darkly funny songs about ordinary people, aging, love, and social life, and he ran his own independent label, Oh Boy Records, for much of his career. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential American songwriters of his generation.
