Lola Flores

Lola Flores, born Dolores Flores Ruiz in Jerez de la Frontera in 1923, was one of the most celebrated Spanish performers of the twentieth century. She worked as a flamenco dancer, singer, and actress, rooting her style in the copla and flamenco traditions of Andalusia. Her commanding stage presence and expressive voice kept her at the center of Spanish popular music for decades until her death in 1995.
