Martina McBride is a country singer and songwriter born in Sharon, Kansas, who moved to Nashville in 1989 and signed to RCA Records in 1991. She built her career on a powerful soprano voice and a mix of traditional country and country pop, racking up 14 Grammy nominations and multiple Country Music Association Awards for Female Vocalist of the Year. She got her early break opening for Garth Brooks on tour and went on to become one of the most successful women in country music.
