Mekons
The Mekons are a British post-punk band formed in Leeds in the mid-1970s as an art collective, and they count among the longest-running bands to come out of the first wave of British punk. Their sound has shifted considerably over the decades, pulling in country, folk, alternative rock, and occasional dub alongside the scrappy rock roots they started with. The core lineup has long centered on Jon Langford, Tom Greenhalgh, Sally Timms, and violinist Susie Honeyman, with the band working collaboratively and crediting everything to the group rather than individuals.
