Michael Rose

Michael Rose is a Jamaican reggae singer born in Kingston in 1957, from the Waterhouse neighborhood. He spent several years as the lead vocalist of Black Uhuru between 1977 and 1984, a period that earned him wide recognition in roots reggae circles, and has recorded steadily as a solo artist since then. His style sits within roots reggae and dancehall traditions, and he is credited with developing a distinctive vocal approach that traces back to his Kingston upbringing.
