Artist
Oliver Nelson
Oliver Nelson (1932-1975) was a saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, and arranger from St. Louis who worked primarily in jazz. He grew up in a musical family, started on piano as a child, and went on to lead his own recordings while also writing and arranging for large ensembles. His 1961 Impulse! album The Blues and the Abstract Truth, anchored by his composition "Stolen Moments", is considered one of the standout jazz records of its era.
