Oscar Peterson

Oscar Peterson was a Canadian jazz pianist born in Montreal in 1925, widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted pianists in jazz history. He recorded prolifically for Norman Granz's labels and toured the world with the Jazz at the Philharmonic troupe, often leading his own trio. Art Tatum and Nat King Cole were strong influences on his style, which combined speed, precision, and a deep swing feel.
