Roberto Murolo

Roberto Murolo (1912-2003) was a Neapolitan singer and guitarist, born in Naples as the son of the poet Ernesto Murolo. He devoted much of his career to preserving and championing the traditional song repertoire of Naples, and alongside figures like Sergio Bruni he was central to keeping that music alive in the decades after World War II. His voice and guitar style became closely identified with the gentler, more intimate side of the Neapolitan canzone tradition.
