Roy Orbison

Roy Orbison was a singer and songwriter from Wink, Texas, who worked across rockabilly, pop, and country-tinged rock and roll. He built his reputation at Monument Records in Nashville during the early 1960s, releasing a run of internationally charting singles including 'Only the Lonely', 'Running Scared', and 'Oh, Pretty Woman'. His voice had an unusually wide range and his songs often carried a dramatic, operatic quality that set him apart from most of his contemporaries.
