Ry Cooder

Ry Cooder is an American guitarist, songwriter, film score composer, and record producer born in Los Angeles in 1947. He is a multi-instrumentalist who built his reputation around slide guitar and a deep curiosity for roots music, drawing on blues, country, gospel, Tex-Mex, Hawaiian, and various world music traditions. Over his career he has collaborated with musicians as wide-ranging as John Lee Hooker, the Rolling Stones, Ali Farka Toure, and Linda Ronstadt.
