The Arms of Someone New was an American duo, Mel Eberle and Steve Jones, who worked primarily in the mid-1980s. Their music sits somewhere between minimal synth, coldwave, and dream pop, built from reverberated vocals, simple drum programs, vintage synths, and strummed guitar. They recorded on cassette and small releases before putting out albums on Projekt and I.R.S. Records, and their catalog was later reissued after years of obscurity.
