The Gourds

The Gourds are an alternative country band from Austin, Texas, who formed in 1994 and played together for nearly two decades before going on hiatus in 2013. Their music pulls from Texas country, Cajun rhythms, Appalachian bluegrass, and rock, with fiddle, accordion, and mandolin all in regular rotation. They built a devoted following through relentless touring and a prolific string of records that leaned heavily on live-band energy and quirky, rootsy songwriting.
