Wilson Pickett

Wilson Pickett (1941-2006) was a singer and songwriter from Alabama who became one of the central figures in American soul music. His gospel roots gave his voice an intense, raw quality that drove a string of R&B hits in the 1960s and 1970s, including 'In the Midnight Hour', 'Mustang Sally', and 'Funky Broadway'. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.
