Jimmy Buffett

Jimmy Buffett was a singer-songwriter from the Gulf Coast South, raised in Mobile, Alabama, who built his sound around country, folk, and Caribbean influences. He settled in Key West in the early 1970s and made music that centered on beach life, sailing, and an easygoing escapism that earned him a devoted following called Parrotheads. He recorded steadily for five decades until his death in 2023, and turned his persona into a broader business empire that included restaurants and resorts.
