Does it work with electric guitar and bass?
Yes. Acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and double bass are all there, and you pick one when you upload. Acoustic parts come out cleanest. Heavily distorted electric tones are the hardest for any transcription model to read precisely.
Can I export tabs in Guitar Pro format?
Yes. Download the transcription as a Guitar Pro file and open it in Guitar Pro, TuxGuitar, or any other tab editor, where you can loop sections and slow them down to practice. PDF, MIDI, and MusicXML come from the same transcription if you want notation instead.
How accurate are the generated tabs?
Accuracy is highest when the guitar is clearly audible, and solo guitar recordings give the best results. On a full band mix we isolate the guitar before anything is written down. Plan on fixing the odd fret position in the editor, not retyping the part.
Can I generate tabs from a YouTube video?
Yes. Paste the link and we extract the audio automatically. Instagram and TikTok links work too. Uploading an mp3, WAV, M4A, or MP4 does the same job if the file is already on your machine.
Can I get the chords instead of a full tab?
Yes. If a chart is all you need, the lead sheet output writes the melody on one staff with the chord symbols above it. Tab gives you the exact fret positions; a lead sheet gives you the shape of the song. For strumming along or handing something to a band, the chart is the faster read.
How does a guitar tab generator work?
It works from the audio, not from a database. Instead of looking your song up in tabs somebody else typed in, the AI listens to the recording, works out which notes the guitar is playing and where they sit on the neck, and writes that out as tablature with the rhythm above it.
- Add the song. Upload an audio or video file, paste a YouTube link, or record a passage straight from the browser.
- Choose the string instrument. Acoustic guitar, bass guitar, or double bass. The chosen part gets isolated from the rest of the mix.
- Read, edit, export. Play the tab back against the audio, correct anything you disagree with, then send it to Guitar Pro or print it.
Can I get tabs for a song nobody has tabbed out?
This is the case the tool exists for. Tab sites only cover songs somebody volunteered to transcribe, which leaves out B sides, local bands, non English repertoire, your own demos, and most things released in the last few weeks. Working from the audio drops that dependency, because all you need is a recording.

What if I do not read tab yet?
Tab is the quickest notation to pick up, because it tells you where to put your fingers rather than which pitch to name. The six lines are the six strings and the numbers are the frets, and that is most of the system. Our walkthrough on how to read guitar tab covers the rest, including how rhythm is marked.
If you would rather see the notes on a stave as well, every transcription carries standard notation alongside the tablature, so you can read whichever you are more comfortable with and switch as you learn.
Which recordings produce the cleanest tabs?
Anything where the guitar is audible will work, but some sources are kinder than others. The clearer the guitar sits in the mix, the less the model has to infer.
- Solo guitar recordings give the most accurate results by a clear margin
- Acoustic parts come out cleaner than heavily distorted electric ones
- Full band mixes are fine, since the guitar is separated out before transcription
- Very quiet or heavily effected parts are the hardest, so expect to tidy a few positions in the editor
