Can I get sheet music with the vocal line and the piano separate?
Yes. That is what this produces. The sung melody sits on its own staff above a two hand piano accompaniment instead of being absorbed into the piano writing. The singer reads the top staff, the accompanist reads the grand staff below. It is the standard piano and vocal layout.
Does it work on a full band recording?
Yes. We separate the mix first, so guitars, bass, and drums stay out of the score. The vocal becomes the melody staff and what is left shapes the piano part underneath. You do not need to hunt down an acoustic or stripped back version.
Can I make the piano part easier to play?
Yes. Run the score through the sheet music leveler and pick a lower difficulty tier. The accompaniment thins out and the vocal line stays exactly as it was, so the singer's part never changes. Your original stays saved if you want to go back up.
What file formats can I export?
PDF for printing, MusicXML for MuseScore, Sibelius, Finale, and Dorico, and MIDI for your DAW. Pick MusicXML when someone else needs to edit the arrangement: it carries the staves and the notation, not a flat image.
How do I get piano and vocal sheet music for a song?
Upload the recording and choose Piano + Vocals. Songscription separates the voice from the backing, writes the sung melody onto its own staff, and arranges what is left into a piano part underneath it. The result is the format most singers and accompanists already read from.

How is this different from a solo piano arrangement?
The melody stays out of the piano part. That is the whole distinction, and it decides which of the two you want. In a solo piano version the tune is folded into the right hand, because one player has to carry both the melody and the harmony at once. Here the voice has its own staff and the piano is written purely as accompaniment, which is what you need the moment somebody is actually singing.
So the choice comes down to who is in the room. If you are playing alone, song to piano or the piano cover creator gives you the self contained version. If there is a singer out front, this page is the one.
Can a singer use this in a different key?
Yes, and it is worth doing rather than straining for notes at the top of a range. Run the score through the transpose sheet music tool and the vocal staff and the piano part move together, so the accompanist is never reading a key the singer is not in.

What if the piano part is too hard, or I only want the accompaniment?
